Leadership Verses
Servant leadership as modeled by Christ — wisdom for those called to lead.
While he {was} yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters {were} eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:
And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that {there is} none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause. {to destroy...: Heb. to swallow him up}
Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
With kings and counsellors of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;
The small and great are there; and the servant {is} free from his master.

I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform {their} enterprise. {their enterprise: or, any thing}
{Is there} not an appointed time to man upon earth? {are not} his days also like the days of an hireling? {an appointed...: or, a warfare}
As a servant earnestly desireth the shadow, and as an hireling looketh for {the reward of} his work: {earnestly...: Heb. gapeth after}
