Leadership Verses
Servant leadership as modeled by Christ — wisdom for those called to lead.
The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, {and} no man breaketh {it} unto them.
The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem.
The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders. {anger: or, face}
Servants have ruled over us: {there is} none that doth deliver {us} out of their hand.
Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured.
The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick.
In the fifth {day} of the month, which {was} the fifth year of king Jehoiachin's captivity,
And lay siege against it, and build a fort against it, and cast a mount against it; set the camp also against it, and set {battering} rams against it round about. {battering...: chief leaders}
And when thou hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each day for a year. {each...: Heb. a day for a year, a day for a year}
Now {is} the end {come} upon thee, and I will send mine anger upon thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations. {recompense: Heb. give}
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.
