Leadership Verses
Servant leadership as modeled by Christ — wisdom for those called to lead.
For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. {from...: Gr. to righteousness}
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin {was} dead.
For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew {me}.
Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger. {elder: or, greater} {younger: or, lesser}
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, {but} not to doubtful disputations. {not...: or, not to judge his doubtful thoughts}
Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in {his} brother's way.
