Leadership Verses
Servant leadership as modeled by Christ — wisdom for those called to lead.
I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ {be} with your spirit. Amen. {Written from Rome to Philemon, by Onesimus a servant.}
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by {his} Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
But unto the Son {he saith}, Thy throne, O God, {is} for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness {is} the sceptre of thy kingdom. {righteousness: Gr. rightness, or, straightness}
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let {them} slip. {let...: Gr. run out as leaking vessels}
Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses {was faithful} in all his house. {appointed: Gr. made}
And Moses verily {was} faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
