Peace Verses
The peace that surpasses all understanding — finding God's calm in life's storms.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he shewed, and how he warred, {are} they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, {are} they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
And the sons of the prophets that {were} at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know {it}; hold ye your peace.
And the sons of the prophets that {were} at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the LORD will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know {it}; hold ye your peace.
And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, {there appeared} a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
And when the sons of the prophets which {were} to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.
Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest. {debt: or, creditor}
And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? {it is} neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, {It shall be} well. {well: Heb. peace}
Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not {thy} riding for me, except I bid thee. {slack...: Heb. restrain not for me to ride}
And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way. {a little...: Heb. a little piece of ground}
So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw {him} running after him, he lighted down from the chariot to meet him, and said, {Is} all well? {Is...: Heb. Is there peace?}
