Peace Verses
The peace that surpasses all understanding — finding God's calm in life's storms.
But the seventh {year} thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, {and} with thy oliveyard. {oliveyard: or, olive trees}
Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
And he sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burnt offerings, and sacrificed peace offerings of oxen unto the LORD.
Six of their names on one stone, and {the other} six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.
And it shall be Aaron's and his sons' by a statute for ever from the children of Israel: for it {is} an heave offering: and it shall be an heave offering from the children of Israel of the sacrifice of their peace offerings, {even} their heave offering unto the LORD.
When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when {thou} numberest them. {their number: Heb. them that are to be numbered}
Six days may work be done; but in the seventh {is} the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth {any} work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. {holy: Heb. holiness}
It {is} a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for {in} six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.
And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit {it} for ever.
And he said, My presence shall go {with thee}, and I will give thee rest.
