Strength Verses

He fought also with the king of the Ammonites, and prevailed against them. And the children of Ammon gave him the same year an hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God. {prepared: or, established}

For Pekah the son of Remaliah slew in Judah an hundred and twenty thousand in one day, {which were} all valiant men; because they had forsaken the LORD God of their fathers. {valiant...: Heb. sons of valour}

And Zichri, a mighty man of Ephraim, slew Maaseiah the king's son, and Azrikam the governor of the house, and Elkanah {that was} next to the king. {next...: Heb. the second to the king}

And Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria came unto him, and distressed him, but strengthened him not.

But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the {other} priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites {were} more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests. {did help...: Heb. strengthened them}

He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which {were} without the city: and they did help him.

Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised {it} up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo {in} the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance. {darts: or, swords, or, weapons}

Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that {is} with him: for {there be} more with us than with him:

After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (but he {himself laid siege} against Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that {were} at Jerusalem, saying, {power: Heb. dominion}
