And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick? {bushel: the word in the original signifieth a less measure}
And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing {him} were astonished, saying, From whence hath this {man} these things? and what wisdom {is} this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?
And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and {of} the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.
And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
