Peace Verses
The peace that surpasses all understanding — finding God's calm in life's storms.
If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth {his} face, who then can behold him? whether {it be done} against a nation, or against a man only:
Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait {into} a broad place, where {there is} no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table {should be} full of fatness. {that...: Heb. the rest of thy table}
Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.
How thy garments {are} warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south {wind}?
Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. {defendest...: Heb. coverest over, or, protectest them}
If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. {ordained: Heb. founded}
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. {rest...: Heb. dwell confidently}
