Peace Verses
The peace that surpasses all understanding — finding God's calm in life's storms.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, {who is} the health of my countenance, and my God.
Be still, and know that I {am} God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
That he should still live for ever, {and} not see corruption.
For every beast of the forest {is} mine, {and} the cattle upon a thousand hills.
Thou sittest {and} speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden {part} thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me {with thy} free spirit.
For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give {it}: thou delightest not in burnt offering. {else...: or, that I should}
And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! {for then} would I fly away, and be at rest.
He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle {that was} against me: for there were many with me.
He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. {broken: Heb. profaned}
Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts {are} against me for evil.
