Peace Verses
The peace that surpasses all understanding — finding God's calm in life's storms.
Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep {forth}. {beasts...: Heb. beasts thereof do trample on the forest}
Remember me, O LORD, with the favour {that thou bearest unto} thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise;
Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. {nothing...: Heb. they shall have no stumblingblock}
I {am for} peace: but when I speak, they {are} for war. {for peace: or, a man of peace}
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
Peace be within thy walls, {and} prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace {be} within thee.
