Peace Verses
The peace that surpasses all understanding — finding God's calm in life's storms.
With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself froward. {shew thyself froward: or, wrestle}
The law of the LORD {is} perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD {is} sure, making wise the simple. {law: or, doctrine} {converting: or, restoring}
O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. {am...: Heb. there is no silence to me}
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. {green...: Heb. pastures of tender grass} {still...: Heb. waters of quietness}
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. {anointest: Heb. makest fat}
Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief {is} in their hearts.
The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of {his} glory. {to calve: or, to be in pain} {doth...: or, every whit of it uttereth, etc}
The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
All my bones shall say, LORD, who {is} like unto thee, which deliverest the poor from him that is too strong for him, yea, the poor and the needy from him that spoileth him?
For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against {them that are} quiet in the land.
